R56 Potential new Mini owner!

Here you go. Note these are also 17", and you currently would have those 16" rims on the car so you would need a new set of tires too

Perfect, thank you! Looks like he is in TX, so that may work.. Since I've have to drive down there to pick the car up.
Good looking out
if that clutch is original be ready for $$$ , no such thing as a $300 clutch on a MINI. And
being a long time EX smoker I would pass if it was smoked in, yuck.
I'd have a hard time paying that much for no warranty. I paid $16,900 for 2011 with 26K , CPO with 6yr/100K warranty.
Good luck.

Definitely a good point to think about re the clutch. Always a risk with high mileage cars if it hasn't been replaced. CPOs sound by far like the most practical option especially for trouble prone cars like the 07-10 R56s. The higher upfront cost saves lots of hassle and money later on.
I think the smokers package just comes standard on all US cars. I have it on mine in the options list, but I think it just refers to the cigarette lighter to be honest

For a MINI, yes. I hear some have had them replaced at 25-35K , and MINI
liked to fight paying for it claiming abuse. I think the problem lies in there
lack of engineering .

So what you're saying is check to see when the clutch was replaced?
Ah, that makes sense; I should have known. Dope slap here..
I have the dual pan sunroof, my wife wanted it. If I had it to do over again, I wouldn't bother. For one, when open, the wind noise is thru the roof (pun intended). And, here in sunny AZ, really heats up the car. I had the darkest window tint I could get put on it.

I would be surprised if there is a difference, but I don't have anything to compare it with. There are a couple of threads on NAM talking about the glass shattering (do a search). Though the consensus is that it's a rare occurrence.
So I believe on Friday I'm going to Dallas TX to pick up a Mini.

I've noticed that some of the Mini's have a "Sports suspension settings" What does that mean? Is there much a difference without it?

Sport button. I have it on my 11 MCS. Seems to tighten the steering a bit, and some have said changes throttle response. Honestly, I don't know what it does, but it "tightens" the MINI up a bit. Feels more responsive, even a bit twitchy. Like it's gone from "go-kart" to "super go-kart". There is definitely a difference when on "sport" versus non-sport.

It's a one owner, 59k miles for 10,500.
I looked at the carfax and the timing chain was already replaced at 30k or so.
It does have two open recalls according to BMW and they are going to fix for free.

Since the timing chain was replaced under warranty Mini will not cover the timing chain later if it should fail again, this is typical if Mini already replace the timing chain, only once.
How long was the car sitting? Put some fresh premium in it and drive hard (3000+rpm) for 30 min or so. That will at least mitigate any carbon buildup. Also do you know if the air filter or plugs have ever been done?
