Key Fob\Door Lock Question

Searching didn't provide me with an answer so I thought I'd ask you folks. I have convenience access on my '08, 2 fobs. I changed the batteries in both several months ago and this morning I swapped out the to one that's been sitting in the drawer. It would not lock the car. The rubber button on the door handle did not work either. Had to use the physical key to lock the door. If I drive the car enough (short commute) will it charge, or become aware and begin working properly or should I just change the battery again and hope for the best? Thanks!

Replace the battery and you should be fine. It stays charged by using it.

Just for the record, again and again. To quote the owner's manual:

"In vehicles equipped with Comfort Access*, the
remote control contains a replaceable battery."

This battery is replaceable, and is not charged by putting the remote control in the ignition lock.

Well Thanks again and again for the dressing down Unibus_driver. I'm sure if I had my manual with me here at work when I wanted to deal with the question I would have cracked it. I want immediate gratification dang it!
