One is fine; normal for one to fail from what I hear, my mechanic (independent) confirms this, as does dealer. Glad to see this happened early for you, plenty of time, mine failed at 39,600.

 

how much did it cost? yeah, we got lucky that we're still under warranty till march. i'm concerned though that we're going to continue to have frequent problems with the car. i can't remember exactly what they replaced but last spring when i had the car in for service they found some kind of oil leak and replaced some engine stuff under warranty. I've had 4 other cars i bought new in my lifetime (golf, passat, tsx, a3) and aside from o2 sensor issues with the golf, i haven't had any engine issues and i put about 100k miles on all of them. just hope this isn't a pattern...

 

it was free, warranty is until 40k. yeah, I've had hondas in the past and no problems aside from a battery. Seems like its a hit or miss thing with this car, some have major issues, others have no issues at all; I wasn't into it, sold the car, got an Outback. Loved the Mini, love the Subaru (can't wait for snow!), but learned all about engines making oil mysteriously disappear now, but hey! I can clear a curb now!

I'd say at least live out the warranty and enjoy the car, there's truly nothing else that drives like a mini out there

 

yeah, the car's paid off and we're not trying to take on another one anytime soon...

 

I hear paid off cars drive better!
