R56 The F56 is unveiled!
I guess that I am late to the party seeing this, but what will be replacing the dipstick as a means of checking the oil level? I did my required NAM search and only found references to the fact, but no discussion about the reason/replacement for it.
If there's no dipstick, there will be a gauge of some kind. It might only be an "idiot light", but there will be some sensor for oil level (in addition to one for oil pressure) and the user will have a way to see the reading.
Part of my amazement is due to the F56 being on display around the country, and no one has observed whether there is a dipstick or not! Makes me regret not getting to the Pittsburgh Auto Show and looking around. I've read that BMW's have some sort of electronic gizmo, and as you say maybe all the new model has is the "idiot light"?
It was near the top of my list to check. Also I didn't think there was any doubt that the dipstick was missing.
