I've got a good deal on my dealer with fitting here in Lisbon for a couple of JCW Recaro seats.

Visually they are impressive and they provide one thing that normal ( I have a standard Cooper S 2009 ) seats do not have - lateral support.

Wife loves them, says they look spectacular ( have to agree with her ) but I fear one thing : how is the comfort ?

Did anyone had a "normal" S seat and swap them to JCW or had a S with normal seats and now a JCW ? How is comfort ?

I find the normal seats doable for city driving ( in terms of comfort ) but a tad unfortable on drives over 100-150 miles. How is the JCW in this regard ? They seem to have extra padding and much better finish rather than some styrofoam inserts.. but please share your experience ! I'm sure they have better support for spirited driving, no questions there, I'm just asking about comfort vs standard ones ( I don't even have leather or half leather ones, I have the cloth regular ones )

I can't speak from mini experience but all of the factory purposed recaro's I've sat in are incredibly comfortable, especially the ones in the RX8 R3, but I also find the factory S seats(mini are the leather seats) are one of the most comfortable seats I've been in. One of the few vehicles that I can go 4+hours without stopping to stretch my legs.

 

I have the jcw recaro and I love them they are very comfortable you can't go wrong
