R56 Check engine light
Check engine light
Check engine light has come on again but it's not putting out any codes on the obd. Second time this is happened. The light turned itself off after a few days the first time but was wondering if anyone has run into this issue before.
I'm not familiar with the specific reader you're referring to. Some others with more experience may be able to address that question.
For me, I found that the generic code reader that came with an iphone app I use (Dashcommand, connected to OBD2) is able to read generic codes only. For example, when my HPFP was dying, it could read the cylinder misfire (P30x) codes, but not the 2880 high pressure system code. When I brought the car to my BMW-specific independent shop, their code reader (Bavarian Technic?) was able to read the additional engine codes (and some codes for other systems that I couldn't read).
Sorry, that's all I can offer. Good luck with your light.
