Resonator Delete Questions

Hello Everyone,

I recently got a 2012 R56 S and would like to do some small modifications to make the car exhaust a bit louder and burble more. I'm thinking about removing the resonator only, not the 2nd cat. I have gone through the forum and read a bit about the resonator delete but I'm still a little nervous about removing it. Need some expert advice please. I have some questions before I get it removed:

1. Would is pop and burble more?
2. Does it drone a lot?
3. Does it have a negative impact to the car? the car is quite new and don't want a lot of issues.
4. Can I put the resonator back, once removed?

I'm new to this, so any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

I know a few people have done it on the stock exhaust, and I don't think it caused any "problems" per say. I cut the resonator out of my Invidia and I'm so glad I did. It's a lot more gurgly and sounds so much better. On mine, I kept the resonator in case I ever wanted to get it welded back in, wouldn't be hard at all. You just have to be okay with cutting your exhaust. With keeping your two cats I really don't think you'd have any drone issues.

I had a res delete on my 07 R56 and it was just a tad louder and more burbly than stock. You definitely won't regret it. I'm planning on deleting 2nd cat, and the two resonators on my R58.

1. Yes, plenty!
2. No drone
3. No negative impact on anything. Resonators reduce cabin noise from the exhaust
4. Yes you can, it's pretty cheap at any muffler shop or hold on to yours.

Thanks very much everyone for the quick response. I need to find a good muffler shop who can do this.
