while they're not super necessary they'd be nice. I'm considering modifying the door pockets to fit a cup but haven't measured it/mocked it up yet. I'm still working on a more permanent place for the sport button too
lol yeah....my wife holds my cup if she's in there with me.

But I don't really get any large drinks and keep it small for the most part, so what I've done is stuff the center cup that's at the end of center console column between the seats with paper and wedge it with my drink. lol

It's a gamble if you go too fast on corners so I normally don't drink much in the MINI anymore.

bahahahaha

my girlfriend would just throw the drink back at me ... so drinks with closable lids sounds like the solution

yup! lol

When I had my Recaros, there was a spot near the door that I could wedge one of my Starbucks coffee cup in and it wouldn't move or spill. It was nice

Sounds to me like closed water bottles are your best options or maybe if iirc the R53 had one that mounted next to the radio that'd work right

I don't want to attach anything to center dash just to fit a bottle. I can manage. Just take the Prius or M3 if I need to go somewhere with a drink.

Hmmm, choice of your M3, Camden, or Prius. you truly have choices for all moods. I didn't realize that this thread is over 900 posts.

Glad your MINI is close to being on the road again.

Have fun,
Mike

Wheel arches and side skirts are done today. Will get them on Wednesday when I have the time. Drop off MINI to detailer on Saturday most likely.

I have not finished it yet, but I made a mold of the OEM console, shortened the ebrake 2", moved the ebrake up 1.5" and back 1.5". Ordered some spun aluminum cup holders .
I have enough room to put a cup holder behind the shifter plus a pocket I made to hold phone.

I see what you did there. Looks interesting.

I couldn't lose the center console completely and the bit underneath the controls. Hence why I ended up getting mine's wrapped in Alcantara.

Curious what it'll look like when all is said and done though, so I'll hold my reservations :D

Dropped off the MINI to get detailed @ Show Car Detailing with Suntek Clearbra on the full hood, rear wheel arches, and full JCW side skirts.

Total bill? $2500.

Thank you.

ALSO. On my way to work, I picked up my Challenge Wing plates which I got anodized. The paint work on it before was shoddy, so when the screws were tightened, it ruined the paint.

Screw the paint. I went with sand blasting the finish and anodized black...$20!!! Finding the right people to do the job is always nice when you can go back to them for more work and the pricing they give you is amazing for the quality work performed.

Anodizing I take my parts to:

Anodizing Industries
http://www.anodizingindustries.com/

Powdercoating....I haven't gotten anything powder coated but my Volks I have on now were done by Reliable Powder Coating and the finish is fantastic. And the person who sold me these wheels swears by them and I still talk to that guy too, so I'll take his word for it.

Son Tran from Onsite Wheels (http://www.yelp.com/biz/onsite-wheel...e?osq=Son+Tran) is the way to go when it comes to wheel refinishing like curb rashes and such, but he can't fill your wheel or fix a crack, that's not what he does.

Strasse Sport for all BMW/MINI work and Motoring Magic also up on my list when it comes to maintenance on the MINI. Scott at MM is kickass and Ivan @ Strasse is solid.

At some point my MINI will be done....I really wasn't hoping to spend this damn much on it, but it is what it is...

I was able to get my lip installed on the M3 in the meantime...

MINI is @ Motoring Magic for valve cleaning and diagnosis on some weird overheating issue.

Putting MINI back together this weekend!

Also, a matching iPE exhaust system going on the M3. First owner of a R56 and F80 with iPE exhaust systems. I just could not resist getting it for the M.

Well, it is with a bittersweet announcement, that I will no longer be part of the MINI community. I have given up on the MINI and moving onto other projects. A few things will come off and be in the marketplace, but for the most part, it will be gone...

In it's place....a new 2016 MX-5 in Ceramic White with a slick shifting 6-Speed!

Thank you all for a great time in this forum. It's been a great 5+ years on here...

You SOB! What made you make this decision? I thought you were enjoying the mini? I'll definitely be looking at your fs threads.
