About to Pull the Trigger

So I have read up on the fourms and am about to pull the trigger. I just wanted to see if the people here think this is a good buy or not. I found a 2009 MCS with 18500 miles listed for $19500. It is in IMMACULATE condition, I cannot overstate this. Has connivence, winter and premium packages as well as aftermarket (professionally installed) tint and 3m protective film. I looked over the service history and it has had the aux water pump and battery issues I have heard about on hear (taken care of by MINI), but not the timing chain tensioner or carbon build up problems.

The real kicker to me is that the owner also has the extended maintenance warranty purchased that lasts until sept. 2015. I am a grad student who doesn't drive a whole lot (6k a year probably), just looking for something fun to drive while I'm young! Does this seem like a good buy? The only thing making me nervous is that reliability that seems to be an issue from reading these forums.

Also, I live in Michigan and this car would be outside in the winter, is this a major issue? I plan on buying winter tires/wheels at some point.

Living in Michigan and being a student, I would go for something a little more durable and reliable like a new Subaru that has all wheel drive. MINIs are not inexpensive cars to fix and they do have their issues.

I live in S. Ontario and have an 09 "S", never had a single issue with this car. Don't beat it up, and it wont bite back. Great gas mileage, and great fun to drive.

My 07 MCS has 57K miles and has been totally trouble free. With the condition of the car, the warranty and a reasonable price, I'd jump on it. If you decide to buy it, continue to have all periodic maintenance performed by Mini and enjoy the he-- out of this great lil car!
