Help, I lost my Gong!

I bought my '07 R56 S from Carmax a few months ago. My radio display lost most of its pixels and brightness when the ambient temperature increased over about 75 degrees (I live in Atlanta, so this is a problem). As a warranty fix, Carmax replaced my radio display, and it works perfectly now (I have hifi if that matters at all).

However, I noticed that I now have NO gong sound! Any time a warning light came on before (lights on, seatbelt, hatch open, door open, key in ignition), there was an audible sound or gong. I now have nothing. The warning lights still display, but the car is silent.

The strange thing is, I can go into the audio controls and adjust the gong volume as before and hear the gong come through the speakers. This is the only time my poor car has a voice!

Another note, I now have lost the menu option to view the mini usa phone numbers. This is NBD, jut thought it was interesting.

Any help would be greatly appreciated! I'm going to call carmax to complain, but if there is an easy fix I'm overlooking, I'd rather not go through the trouble.

Thanks in advance.

Ribbon cable from head unit might not be seated fully.

Count yourself lucky - the gonging drives me crazy - hope it does not escalate to anything serious

Let CarMax deal with it. You paid for the warranty so enjoy it. I wouldn't worry about it.
