R56 Hard Start when Cold
Just had my MINI back from the shop for a decarb and having the MAF sensor replaced. Car ran fine when picking it up from the mechanic but it was warm. This morning it started and died 3 times, called the mechanic and he told me to bring it back in. 5 hours later after arriving to work I get ready to leave on my lunch break to take it back in and experience what is depicted in the video. I did just install an OCC between the time I picked the car up and dropped it off which I believe is what they are going to come back at me as being the cause of the problem would like to get some insight from all of you experts so I can tell them to go pound sand. I would like to also state the reason the car originally went in was for this very problem, but not nearly as bad. The fan also has a tendency to remain on for long periods of time even after the car is shut off. They told me that they could not re-create this problem and that there were no faults stored for the fan issue I reported.

Might be the high pressure fuel pump. Took mine in for probably the same problem. First they did the walnut blast-o-matic de-carboning. Took it back and they replaced the fuel injectors and spark plugs. Took it back again and they replaced the HPFP at no charge. I think it was a recall issue for 2008 MCS.
