Hello guys i just got a 2008 mini R56 Blue used with 95k just for fun. (might make a track car not as a Daily Driver)



i have owned it for 2 day and it feels awesome but i was on the highway and i decided to step on the gas and the car reved all the way to 7k rpms and did not switch gears. idk what happen but then i see the car just rev up and then goes straight to 5 gear. i am taking th car to the dealer tomorrow so they can fix it. any suggestions on what could of happen?

i get a Yellow Gear icon that pops up

 

Is this an automatic?

Also, I am surprised you made it to 7k rpm. The stock MCS redlined at around 6.6k and the power will be cut.

 

thanks for the quick reply and yea for some reason when the gear box or transmission when bad it rev at around 7 or myb 6.6k like you said and yes its auto

 

Sounds like a transmission problem. Time to have a chat with a mechanic.

 

Well here is a little update

today in the morning i took it back to the dealer and they gonna have it fixed. they are going to rebuild the trany plus they are going to change the sensor as well.

i will have the car by next week, when i do get it i will take it to a authorize mini cooper dealer so they can check it out. i did not pay 2k for 7year/100k extender warranty lol.

ill post here an update when i get it back and then take it to BMW
