Rislone in an R56

Anybody ever use Rislone in their R56? I have used it in all my old beater cars and it did what i needed it to do. I have never tried it with a Fully Synthetic Oil,

Not have adverse effects.... mostly,, I know car is direct injected and yes that makes noise but i have a slightly noisy vacuum pump and some noise under the valve cover.. timing chain cover area is quiet..... the dealer said all noises are normal and there is a TSB for it... but i bet the Rislone would shut it up a bit.... Oil level is also perfect on fresh oil change.....

Risoline is basicly a very thin oil.(i think if i remember, as opposed to motor honey, the thick stuff)....almost a diesel oil....used to thin conventional oil enough to speed oil pumping to the top-end of the motor, to lube the topend....
I would surmise you are not helping the syenthic oil's lubricating ability with such an additive, but hurting it....
With syenthic oil you CAN get a good quality 0w-40.....hard to beat that.

I do not agree with your word choice of comparing it to a diesel oil... I would say it is a thin oil with cleaning additives maybe some Naptha or something in there...

I just don't want to be the guinea pig here..lol, i will wait for the warranty to expire going to a thicker 40, I know when i had my MACh1 the 0-20w made for lots of noisy lifters, the 10-40w did quiet it down,, this engine(R56) seams you even look at it wrong your timing chain tensioner will fail or you will FOD out your vacuum pump and starve the turbo and it will explode....

If you look up the manuals on-line, the euro and us ones, you will find mini has suggested 5w30 in the us, and 0w-40 on euro cars...same motor.....later gen1 cars also listed 0w-40.in the us......so i bet is is for marketing reasons...possibly local avalibility....0w-40 is only sold in a few brands as a euro version in the us....the MOST COMMON WEIGHT in the eu is 0w-40...maybe they list as us 5w30 to make us epa numbers? !
in any case, record you complaint...have the dealer make a paper trail, so you might have it covered out if warrenty as a preexisting issue.....if it does not get squared away from before the warrenty ends!!
