May be time for a timing chain....

Hey Gang,
My 2007 MCS starting making the dreaded "rattle" when cold this week.
It mellows-out once the car is up to operating temp.

Sounds like it is coming from the timing chain.

My question:
Does anyone have a recommendation for an aftermarket timing chain that will last longer than ~58K miles (this is my mileage).

The car I gave up for my MINI was a 1996 Infinity G20 with a 4 cylinder/5 speed. Had it since new.
The car had 225K miles when I sold it and the timing chain was never touched and was silent as a church mouse.....

So, long life timing chains do exist....I just don't know where!

Any help is totally appreciated!!

don't think i've heard of anyone going aftermarket on the timing chain, and nor would i take the chances of going aftermarket for the timing chain. this has been a known issue on the MCS, so with many owners, ymmv from user to user

Have you checked your oil level? Low oil will cause some similar noises.
