White wheel upgrade

So I got a wild hair and decided to change up the wheels on my 09 MCS. I thought about just going black at first but then I thought tons of people have black wheels and since I got lucky and have a white top I could do something different, so I did! Also got rid of the checkered mirror caps.

Nice.. I'd only be worried about break dust!

Side note: did you pay to have these painted white?

Looks good with the other white accents on the car.

Looks nice!

I had my wheels powder coated white on my hot chocolate Mayfair.

Yes the brake dust is a pain, but once I change out the pads that issue should resolve itself.

Clean look. I like it and it complements the white roof well.

Thanks man. Yeah brake dust will probably be a pain but sometimes you just have to deal with it.

I painted them myself with the help of a buddy of mine actually, they came out pretty good I'd say.

Yep - I'd agree. A perfect move going to white wheels with the matching roof/mirror/bonnet stripes. I did the same thing 'cept in black.

I'm curious since you painted yours yourself - just a light sand and then paint? When they powder coated my Bridgespokes black (winter wheels) they tried to get down to metal and never made it with the first wheel so that wheel is a little pitted looking where they broke through in some spots and not in others.

They decided to light sand the other 3 and they're perfect! And I wouldn't worry about the brake dust too much - you may find that you're going to need brakes shortly anyway. Once I went to an aftermarket rotor and Hawk pads, brake dust is almost non-existent.

I appreciate it! I really love how it turned out.

Yeah, basically just took some 220 grit sandpaper to them and went over them just until the clear disappeared. Sprayed right over them with an acrylic enamel which coated really well. The only thing I've yet to do is decide when/if I want to spray a clear over them.

That sounds good, that pesky brake dust gets old fast!
