Any Problems with removing hood stripes on 2011?

I am looking at a preowned 2011 Mini Cooper S. The car appears to have been gargaed and well taken care of. The only problem is that it has the hood stripes and I really am not a big fan of these.

I would like to remove them but just wondering if anyone else has done this? If so did you see any problems with the paint looking different under the stripes?

Thanks

Shouldn't be a problem, best to do it when it is hot outside and use hair dryer if you need to heat them up. Peel off slowly, if there is any glue residue left use GooGone or similar product. Polish and wax, should look great.

Dealership removed my stripes as part of purchase deal. You have to look really close to see where they were.

What color is the car? If the paint is worn/scratched then the paint underneath the stripes will be in better shape and you might notice it in the sun. A good detail shop should be able to polish it out so that you can't tell the difference.
