quick question: what does this sensor on the oem intake do?

Just like the title says...what is this sensor on the side of the intake hose?

I can't find any diagrams with this sensor labeled.

The image is so small; there's actual wiring to the connection?
RealOEM.com calls it a "blind plug" (P/N#11157618255), assuming it's not addition fuel / PCV detail...

Can't really see it to well to be able to tell what you are talking about.
It is on Realoem but, does not say what it is.

Thinking though about it might be a temp sensor my 93 BMW had a sensor very similar to that on the intake box that had something to do with the coolant system. It was a fail point and my mechanic did a bypass for me so that it would not fail on me.
