I fear the OP will end up with this if they don't go to the dealer.

I use that BPCH all the time.
I like to change my position when I'm driving on the interstate and my back starts to get tired.
I raise the passenger seat up as high as it will go to help my 93 year old mother get in, then lower her down again cause she likes to look cool when motoring in the MINI. She just rolls that way.

Edited to add:To Maugre - I agree with Kirby that is a very nice BPCH delete job. I meant no disrespect. I'm just not sure that is the solution the OP is looking for, but I could be wrong.

Seriously, getting your pants leg caught???? I am thinking you are doing something else in that drivers seat besides driving. Are you a Chinese contortionist?

Maybe . Anyway, it happened three times, and that was enough, and I don't wear Zubas. That's my story, and I'm sticking to it.

I'm the only one who drives my car, so it works for me.

I have read of others on the forum who have experienced the same problem, so now I'm thinking there may be more of us confusionists, and not necessarily Chinese either .

Okay, I believe your story. Now I am thinking you've got to stop wearing the MC Hammer Harem pants - that look is so 1980's........Hammer Time!

So, no reports back from the OP?
I wonder if the problem is solved and what was the solution?

I went to the dealer today. First chance I've had. Life happens.

I was there maybe fifteen minutes, took less then five to fix it. It was nice day for a drive. I got a wave and from another MINI.

I was concerned you got your pants' leg caught while wrestling with the handle and were never heard from again.
Hooray for a happy ending and a good day for motoring.

The same thing happened to my passenger seat last night. I had trouble removing the seat belt anchor bolt, then I found this post. I followed RKW's post to remove the lever to free the belt. It is the best and easiest solution and I fixed the problem in less than 5 minutes.

I used a small screw driver with a thin head to pry open the cover and a number 20 star screw driver to loosen the screws. I suggest raising the seat as high as possible before removing the lever.

You could have covered up the mistake by telling us you are setting the new world record for walking on your hands.
