Yes...I'm aware they post only OEM numbers........that's why I asked how fast his Mini was. Mine is modded too but I've never actually checked just how fast it is. However I have an idea of how fast it is compared to other cars.

Or of course if he knows his lb/hp then that would be a good indicator.......

I get that exact same "compliment" quite often.

lbs/ ft lbs is the number which is important, to put it into perspective, the last time i dynoed my S was able to to turn 237 ft lbs... 7 more than your average stock e46 m3 on the same dynojet mass drum dyno at almost 1k lbs less

I have had encounters with G8's, 30-90 i would out accellerate but they pick up momentum like the srt8's and once they are moving they are going to walk us no matter how hard we press the pedal lol

But definitely give them a ... face until they pass then they go back to

BTW - I agree with the G8 owner....your Mini is "bad as hell"

How fast is my mini?? I wish I had something to compare it to. I don't have any qtr mile times and dyno numbers mean nothing as far as how fast it is.

Having been building engines since I was 17, I've had my share of 500-750HP cars so I think I'm pretty versed to say how fast my car is in comparison.

IF I had raced the G6, I think I would have surprised the crap out of him till about 70-90. After that, he'd walk away from me... there's no replacement for displacement.

As far as the 13.5 qtr mile in a G6, I'm pretty confident I am in the 13's... (depending on tune)

If my wife wasn't with me, then we would have found out.

:D

It's a compliment.....the G8 owner knows he drives a GM car that he paid way to much for, has lost 75% of its value (Pontiac is Nada) and that will leave him in a pile on the side of the road one day.

MINI all the way! Especially one bad a$$ orangecrush!

Real dyno numbers would give you a better idea than a butt dyno. I would love to get the Mini dynoed and get it to a drag strip to see what it can do.

At the end of the day, it's just nice knowing somehow the little Mini has the ability to surprise the big HP muscle car guys, cause many of us are still muscle car guys too, and this little Turbo has a unique driving experience few of us have felt behind the wheel, not that it's acceratingly fast straight line, yet it's quick and has the ability to surprise more than a few hotrod cars, especially when the road turns into lots of curves!!!

Sometimes lots of HP In a rwd can wreck havoc on less experienced drivers on roads with many turns and elevation changes, the Mini is surprisingly capable of making direction changes at speeds Most rwd cars can only dream of on stock tires...

Oscar gives goals and direction to others vision of what their Mini can be with their own touch, yet Oscar is an awesome street car with Attitude!!!

There was a time when street challenges and carbureted engines were normal and happened a lot during a trip across town, I have even had a unmarked Police car ask me to run him from one stop light to the next 1/2 mile away, Yes I did and smoked his **** too, he was surprised cause turns out his unmarked was not stock, that was with my Cobra SVT mustang though, but so much fun...

Gear heads and respect for another's car is something enthusiasts enjoy about the industry and hopefully we can make the Mini a formidable contender that truly owns the curves for its size weight and power level....

May more of us show how well our Mini's perform in their element.

Never understood the hatred/rivalry between car enthusiasts. I've owned a ridiculous amount of cars and don't understand how you can be considered a car enthusiast but hate everything japanese, or german, or american, etc. We all share the same hobby so it's nice to see variety.

The V is a beast! That's what my wife calls it. It's a whole different experience from the MINI. I love them both!

Depending on the driver as well. I've seen some very fast cars that were downright slow either because of poor driver ability and incorrect rubber. Usually both.

But with the right combination of each of those ingredients, well you know the rest....

@ PatM yes this is much of the lack of experience with wasting money on a car they never intend to truly use, yet that stems to my beliving in America we get spoiled at taking Hotrodding for granted, younger newer drivers should have to earn the right to have a sports car of any type, and show responsible driving before having any serious sports car for speed or handling ability, then they just might respect the cars many of us have spent time and money making the custom...

@ Squirlz you are so right and having had a beast of my own which i miss at times more than I thought I would, yet it can be replaced again, it was an 06 SRT8 300 with ported heads full Kooks long tubes a Novi SC only pushing around 9psi with a water to air after cooler, this beast put 530RWHP and made torque like a Big Block, limited cause the Drag Radial came out after I built this, with KW V2's around it was a very fun and fast car for a heavy sedan, 4450lbs with me, ran 12.20 @ 118 with a 190. 60ft on a street tire, could have made 11's but did not, yet a fun touring sedan, would love the CTS-V that's a marvel of accomplishment from Cadillac, simply awesome!!!

@ OrangeCrush, thanks Mark would love to see some of your other builds.

@ DinoV great point.

My 04 Pontiac still going strong @ 196k miles I have put all but the first 500 on it. I do 54 miles one way to work with my average speed of 95.(all hwy) The car is a tank and is being handed down to my son.

Hoping to have same great results with my first mini.

Hotrodding. It doesn't even mean the same thing anymore.

Used to be you ordered your parts from a catalog and installed them yourself. You maintained your car, and you made it better with your own two hands. Some still do this, but by and large it's a lost art. Most Hot Rods were a car someone bought and took down to their local tuner and threw a lot of money at it. To me, I'm not so impressed just because one guy dumped more money in his car than another guy did.

This is one of the reasons I like OC's car. He wrecked it, tore it down with his own hands and rebuilt it prettier and better than it was before he started. He did it old school, the way it should be for a car enthusiast.

Sorry, rant off.

I use to hate Minis too until I really looked at them closely and drove one. Two Minis later I have a hard time imagining myself in anything else... except my Jeep.

"Bad As Hell" is a supreme compliment. (according to my grandson..)
I had a strange kind of compliment today while on my return drive. The small version of the Hummer, which was absolutely beautiful, came along side and stayed a couple of feet back, going down the four lane, for about 5 miles.
Don't know if it was a delight in the comparison in sizes but to me it was a perfect picture.
We came to a stop light and I looked up (and I mean up !!) and saw a wave !! We have a new buddy now and he's a Hummer.
