NM Engineering Scoop Saver

Does anyone have any experience with the NM Engineering Scoop Saver?Already starting to notice slight warping on my 07 MCS Hood Scoop. Would like to do something before it gets BAD... Right now I'm just opening the bonnet and venting the heat after a hard drive. A little weary about using a heat shield for fear of overheating the turbo....

Any of the turbo heat shields will be fine. But another option is the mini scoop heat shield. Take a look. It's priced nice, and easy to install. http://www.detroittuned.com/shop/?productID=554.

...not to mention that it's OEM, so no danger of the dealership techs freaking out over the mod.

Word from a friend who also is a 2nd gen owner, and a turbo and hydraulics engineer, heat shields on turbos is counter productive, as JPMM said "don't cover it cool it" you want the heat to escape, so the best bet is to shield the scoop a la the nm scoop saver, I have one installed on my '07MCS before that I had this unit installed. Which is now installed over the nm unit, hey, it can't hoit! Temp at the scoop with the hood closed 15-30 minutes after extended, spirited runs shows a drop of almost 100 degrees F on average when compared to before installing the nm unit.
