R56 Please welcome my second MINI!
I must be nuts about MINIs!
Took ole Swifty to MINI North Scottsdale for a checkup. With 111,857 miles, with me driving, he was rode hard and hung up wet. Almost wept thinking how I was kicking him to the curb.
But when I found out repairs would be more than $4,000 (just the radiator support replacement was $1,400!), and the car's value $6,100 at best, it would have been stupid to continue.
So I took a look at what used MINIs they had (stayed away from the Bentley dealer next door), and took a liking to this '07 MINI JCW with 32,906 miles.
Had to give ole Swifty a hug....
Now, for a name......

Do you plan on any performance mods (handling or power)?
I don't have my car yet, but I just got my new set of wheels/tires....Im in deep trouble with having to wait for my car.
Welcome, good to see a fellow JCW in the Scottsdale area.I guess I'm not yet but should be getting it by the end of the year.

I'm really happy with the performance out-of-the-box, better than the '03 with all sorts of aftermarket mods. Do plan on getting the 4-point seatbelts.
Thanks! I like yours alot with the different bumpers and all.
I'm lucky mine came with white turn signal lenses. It actually was sold in England first!

Honeymoon is over
Dang it!
Developed a bad coolant leak, it was losing a whole puke tank just for driving across town! No obvious pool under the car, no spraying steam from a hose, can't be good. No way was I driving 100 miles to MINI North Scottsdale, that would have taken at least 5 gallons of antifreeze, and all day stopping, letting cool, filling, stopping.....

Now I'm driving a cute chick loaner MINI.

That sucks. However, I must express my jealosy over your choice of photographic locations. Looks beautiful out there. I need to visit a friend I have out that way one of these days. Probably be a good idea before she moves away from there in a year or so.
Just PM me if you are near Prescott! The photoshoot took the sting out of the buzz kill.
Great looking MINI and I love those rims! However impractical they would be to buy after the fact I'm tempted to since they look fantastic. Hope your coolant leak isn't so bad on the wallet. I just recently bought my 07 as well!
Want to report that MINI North Scottsdale treated me VERY well! Not only did they eat the tow (which isn't covered even with the extended warranty), and replacing the waterpump, and key fob chrome ring, but I forgot to fill up their loaner, and they said that's okay! I must have a reputation...
Just wanted to give an update, and show new pictures.
So far, so good!

My only complaint are the Dunlop Sport 07 run-flat tires. They don't have the grip like the Khumo tires on previous car, and not for snow!

L@VE Jerome...that would be Kick A** in a MINI!! Sadly I wasn't old enough to drive when my Family would go up there...I do miss AZ!!

You must know a different group of street rodders than I do. I built and owned my street rod for 15 years and I can attest that no one drives their cars more places and in worst weather than the street rod crowd. Keep in mind I'm not comparing them to folks that own cars which are daily drivers, that is comparing apples and oranges.
I drove my street rod coast to coast several times and it's not uncommon to go to a rod run (Goodguys or NSRA) and have 8-9K cars. 99%+ are driven to the event, not trailered.

RSchleder: My only experience was with the Prescott Antique Auto Club, mostly stock old cars. I know other people with rods. Always good to see a nice rod on the road!
This was my ride, nothing fancy:

Well, we both got something for our efforts.
Otherwise, it was fun enough.

LOVE this car !! Sorry about having to let go of the old MINI, but its always nice to replace an old one with a new one ... if ya went to the bentley dealer next door you would of been upset with how much you spent on the car and it isnt nearly 2/3s as fun to drive ... i dont care for starring at cars for more than a minute id rather rip the roads !!!! love the color too whats the name of the color ??
