Last month I bought a used 2008 Mini Cooper w/ 6 Speed Manual Transmission, Premium Package and Sport Package.

This past weekend I took my first long distance road trip. Houston to Dallas and back. Before leaving I reset all of the averages, and filled up.

Final Report:
Miles per Gallon: 44.2

Average Speed: 67

 

i get about 33mpg doing 76 or so

 

When I first bought my 2008 MC 6spd I would get around 54 mpg going about 75 to 80. Now days, I get about 36mpg.

 

I always calculate my mpg manually, i.e., start with a full tank and note how many gallons were required to re-fill at the end of the trip. Divide miles by gallons. The avg mpg display has been known to give off-readings.

Latest highway mpg for my 2009 Auto S was 41.6mpg (my best ever - averaging 70mph or so).
