R56 Driving lights swithes/cold air intake questions
Driving lights swithes/cold air intake questions
Hey everyone, first time thread, so be nice to me
I have an '08 R56 Cooper hardtop. I would like to install driving lights and wish to add the switch wired into an open slot in my switch panel below the A/C controls. (picture added). Does anyone know where I can get an OEM switch to match like the ones installed?
Also I am thinking of removing the air intake resonator and then replacing the factory air filter with a KN filter. Has anyone removed the resonator with improved performance?
Next thing, get rid of these crap dust producing brake pads. Which do you recommend..EBC red stuff or green stuff? I drive 80 miles round trip commute.
Thanks everyone. Drive safe.

As for brake preference, there will be debating owners, but I stand by Hawk HPS pads for the street.

So if you add other parts like a relay and a bunch of wiring then it could control other lights but just adding the toggle to the switch that is already in place will not automatically get you what you are looking for.
yeah the brakes do produce a lot of dust and going to just about anything else will reduce it. again searching will be a great help to you.
The oem switch for the driving lights is actually mounted on the knee bolster to the left of the steering wheel. The toggle switches in the panel below the a/c controls are used for the front and rear fog lights. I tried a diy intake resonator delete pipe (see my gallery) and a K&N panel filter for a while and didn't notice any increase in performance. It made a nice throaty intake sound but nothing more. I eventually removed both to restore the peace and quiet.
