quick follow up, was having rough startups even after the tensioner so i brought it back. they did a media blast for free and it is running well. actually, had CEL go off over the weekend b/c the intake hose got loose. one thing after another. at least it was minor and i got free snacks and a wash. if only they'd give me a bimmer loaner!

 

Update #82: It happened twice last week! Must be something to do with the changing seasons. I usually keep it garaged but left it out overnight both days (30s overnight). Both mornings it stalled same way last year. Earlier in the week I filled up at this old school Citgo (still had a full service pump!); I'm not sure if they had high ethanol / dirty gas. Dealer wants to charge $100 to look at it but if its just the bad gas, why bother? Think I'll wait for another fill up and test. No CEL again.
