Can a 2009 Homelink mirror be simply swapped, plug & play with a 2008 Autodim mirror? A friend bought a used 2009 but lives in a condo where he cannot use the Homelink and said we could swap mirrors. I recall reading they were prewired if you had autodim but a search was not conclusive as most threads concerned a manual mirror conversion. Can someone confirm?

 

I'm interested in knowing too? I want to get the homelink mirror as I only have the normal non-dimming mirror.

 

I didn't know you could get one without the other. I thought the option has always needed both.

 

There appear to be 3 variations. manual dimming, auto dimming and auto dimming with homelink. There is a thread for wiring your car to handle a homelink mirror if you have a manual mirror. I found it in a few minutes searching homelink mirror. https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...-homelink.html

I think the cars with auto dimming are prewired for homelink but wanted confirmation before trying the swap. Upon re-reading the link above I think I answered my own question and that the wires are there.
