Good day Motorists,
My wife's car has code P1497 with the yellow check engine light lit. My homework on here tells me it's probably a cracked valve cover. My question for those that have had this replaced or replaced it themselves is why isn't this covered under warranty? Surely with the new ones coming with a relief valve they know it's a problem? Anyway, if I was to attempt this repair myself are there any other parts I will need? Does anyone have a part number? Am I jumping to conclusions that it's the cover and is there something else I should check as well? Thanks in advance!

 

You should paint the valve cover too since you are replacing it. It would look sweet.
