I changed mine in my 08 MC at 46000 miles. The gap was larger than factory, and my idle quality was dramatically different after replacing. Unfortunately my plugs cost me $20 per plug. Do it, you will notice the improvement

I changed mine for the first time at 106k. Dealer wanted $22 per plug; I got the same plug at my local parts store for $9. I do notice some improvement in performance. Even if you don't change the plugs, I recommend loosening and retorquing them every 30k or so; after 100k you risk them becoming very difficult to remove.

I haven't changed my plugs yet, but If you have the JCW engine tuning kit, you're supposed to change the plugs every second oil change. I plan on changing mine at 30,000 miles.
