R56 Question about keyless start up
Question about keyless start up
Today I started my 07 mcs and then turned it off, pulled the key out then pushed the start button which started the car with out the key. This only works sometimes (only when you start it with the key first) Is this a glitch?
I have heard this before and i believe it is just a timing issue. If you catch it with in a few seconds then it can start but more than about 15-20 seconds i doubt it will start for you.
But I could be wrong. I have been before.

It is easy to start the and run the car without the fob! And I am not talking about comfort access FOB either.
Set the fob in the dash holder (don't click in) and press and hold the start button for about 30 seconds. The car will start up and run.
Then you can pull the fob out of the dash. You may get a FOB/CAS yellow warning in the tach display. This is a "secret" backup way to run the car in case the latching mechanism breaks or jams.
