I was cleaning the engine bay when I accidentally pressed a button that sits behind/ "on top" of the enfine fuse box. It made an electrical sound right after being pressed. I hope it isn't anything important! Does any one know what it is or what it does???

I found a Picture, I've searched all over with no luck

 

I believe that is the bonnet switch for the alarm system. If the bonnet is opened when the alarm is armed, the alarm will sound. Prevents people from opening bonnet and diconnecting battery.

 

It's the Insane Button. It's called that because trying to figure out what it is will drive you insane!

 

Tojofi, Thank you so much! As Ween was saying this was driving me insane!!!! I guess it is that, an "inertia switch" or a fuel cut off button.

I drove the car after and it seemed fine so hopefully that'll be the last I hear of it

NO it's not for the fuel cut off or inertia switch tojofi was correct, it's the hood switch for the alarm.
