R56 So do you.......
So do you.......
Just a unofficial poll here...
So do you....
Drive an indirect route when you are going some where, especially if the alternate route has a more enjoyable road....
After you park somewhere. keep checking out your MINI as you walk away.....
"Pose" you car when you park such as backing in and turning the wheels...
Take one last look at your car before you leave the garage at home...
Park in spot so you can get a really good view when you walk back to your car.
For the fun factor, park between two monster SUV's such as an H2 and an Expedition because it is funny...
Try to catch up or slow down when you see another MINI on the road so you can check them out and drive in a cluster...
Your MA and SA at the dealership know your car and your first name by sight at the dealership...
Have more than one piece of MINI apparel or accessory...
Named your car and have a customized, MINI related license tag...
Keep a protected copy of the Italian Job on your DVR...
Guilty on all counts. What other quirky things do you do. My wife and kid tell my I am OCD regarding mine

I do all of the above, except for the parking between 2 monster SUVs;
I'd rather park next to another MINI.
I also park in the farthest parking spot that is protected on at least one side if at all possible, and I always wash my MINI myself, no automated car washes allowed.

Yep, just about all cept parking between the big SUVs. Theres a bunch of F250, F350 Diesel type trucks where I work and the door on one of those would most likely total my MCS. And whats the Italian Job ????? Sounds dirty....
And of course hand washing only and....
parking as far away as possible from other cars which for us ol farts with heart issues gives us the additional benefit of a bit of extra exercise.

I have/do all of those things except:
• I park as far away from other cars as possible, even though there always ends up being one a foot away from my door when I get back.
• I don't have any MINI clothes (yet) and my only accessory is the pen I got in the "Field Adventure Kit"
There's a JCW shirt I want and I want the MINI banner for my garage.
• I haven't thought of a name for this MINI yet, my first MINIs name was Paxton.
• The Italian Job (remake) is probably one of my favorite movies. I have BOTH movies at my house.
I'd have to say though, my JCW is making me wayyyy too paranoid about other people/cars/animals when my car is parked somewhere.

Yep to many of the above, and I admit to this one especially. I try to do it on the sly, 'cause it's dorky. I was once in a parking lot with a friend when a Ferrari 348 pulled up, parked and the owner did the long look over the shoulder as he walked away in near ecstasy. Without missing a beat, my buddy shouted "HEY! NICE FIERO!!!!!". Ecstasy destroyed.
I forgot to include handwashing. The only carwash I go to is a "no-touch" wash when it is fraking cold like it is right now. My car rearely goes more than a week without getting washed. Sometimes [like now] I am am wasing it almost every other day because of the salt and road crap they are putting down.
100 lashes to you for owning a MINI and not knowing what The Italian Job is!
Seriously, rent the one in the link above. It's a must for the video library of any MINImaniac!

Like others have said, it's Yes to almost all except parking between two SUV's/Trucks. I tend to be extremely finicky about my parking choices.
I only have one item of MINI apparel (hat).
I have a copy of the Italian Job (the new one).

I've done them all (Italian Job is even on my phone.. sick I know) except park between SUV's... Other car are almost a desert away!! Friends don't like riding with me because they don't like where I park.
When I got a Mini banner and hung it up in the garage, then made my wife take photos of me with the banner and my car...she thought I was seriously luney tunes.

Yes to almost all acounts
, for both Minis we own
except the parking...stay long ways away from anything big or carts. But the funny thing is my Wife says the "big things" seem to always search her car out and park next to her Mini. Think they have "issues" if you know what I mean
.
Have a copy of both the 2003 and 1969 versions of The Italian Job http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Italian_Job_(1969_film) you should check out the older one; it's pretty funny

LOL!
I am guilty of all except for parking in between monster SUV's. Haven't really seen a spot but I prolly wouldn't dare try. I either park away from everyone else or next to a MINI or a nice luxury car.
Since it is my first MINI, I do just sit in the car and read the manual over and over once I get home everyday!

that's the sound track album on CD . . .
So I can play Self Preservation Society while Motoring . . .
Didn't understand you want just the music.
Don't need that - my Mini Dealer gave me a CD of great crusing music to go with the car when I bought it, but that wore off when I realized how great the car was to listen to while rowing through the gears at 6000 rpm
Motor on and love the car! and watch out for those SUVs
Guilty on most counts... but I avoid parking near anything - especially anything large - because all it would take is one dent in my MINI's pristine sides to knock the "new" off of it. And a door dent, no matter how small, would become the focal point of that side of the car, I'm afraid.

On my 3rd or 4th mini, I took a Phil Wicks Mini driving school class. At the end of the first day, we all went to a restaurant and there was this huge screen hanging from the wall.
On the screen, the original Italian Job was playing. Well, I had never seen it nor did I realize that Phil Wicks was in the movie itself.
I hadn't been there 5 minutes and as I pulled out my chair to sit, EVERYONE screamed at the top of their lungs in unison with the movie that exact line.
"YOU'RE ONLY SUPPOSE TO BLOW THE BLOODY DOORS OFF!"
Imagine my surprise (and embarrassment) when I learned what was going on.
And yes, I do all of the above except park in between two huge SUV's. (cause I own one myself and wouldn't want the doors to cave in my doors)
Mark
I don't have a copy of the new Italian Job, but I do have the older version.
I don't park near trucks.
I don't have any MINI themed clothes, I just haven seen any that I like yet.
I don't know my MA or SA, because I haven't been back to the dealer since I bought my MINI, there's been no need to.
I do everything else on the list though.

Come on, how can you resist the t-shirt like this

+++++++++++++++++++++++
and you are not a MINIac until you know the significance of that line
You're only supposed to blow the bloody doors off!
And can hum a few bars of Self Preservation Society . . .
OK here's a trivia question:
Self Preservation Society is not a song/track on the sound track album. But it occurs twice ON the album.
How is this so?
Extra Credit - the music was composed by????
**********************

SPS was not the name of the piece on the album, the instrumental and vocal versions have different titles with a subtitle of SPS
