MCS Software Upgrade

Hi guys,

This may be a stupid question, but is it possible to upgrade the software on a 2007 MCS to a later version?

The rain sensor on my car is VERY sensitive and I often find myself forced to turn it off and end up activating the windscreen wipers manually... which obviously defies the whole idea of the automatic wiper option.

I have seen in the 2008 Clubman Owners Manual, that the sensitivity of rain sensor can be adjusted through the INFO/SET menu, but I can not find this function on my 2007 car.

So, I thought a software upgrade might be the solution. Any ideas?

Take care

Jens

Have you tried adjusting the sensitivity of the auto wipers? The dealer can load newer software but I don't know if it affects that feature. My 07 has had a couple software upgrades during routine dealer visits but I didn't notice any change in how the auto wipers work.

My problem is that I can't find out how adjust the sensitivity of the auto wipers.

When I look in the settings menu, via the OBC, the option to adjust the wipers is not there.

I therefore thought that perhaps the 2007 model did not allow for adjusting the sensitivity.

Jens, I have an '07 Mini S. I have an adjustment for auto wiper sensitivity in the settings menu of the OBC.

Your location tells me that you may not have a US version'd MINI, but something else. The "rain-sensing" wipers came with the Convenience Package option on US MINIs, a $1250 option I might add. You said you could not change the settings in the OBC, the Windshield symbol is the first to appear when pushing in the button on the Left Stock, if it does not then I would assume that you do not have Rain-sensing Wipers.

Is this an actual R56 or do you have a cabrio?

It is true that my car is not a US model. It was delivered by Mini in Switzerland, where I live. It is a coupe from 2007.

However, I do have the rain sensor option and it works. It is also listed in the options list on the original invoice for the car.

The problem is that it is too sensitive and I can't find the adjustment function when going into the SET/INFO menu (using the push button on the left hand indicator stalk).

I will try to pop by my local Mini garage today to check if my SW is up to date.
