My post had nothing to do with what MINI recommends other than noting what the recommended weight is if using Mobil1.
Why all the confusion, just buy the oil from the dealership. It is the same price or usually cheaper than elsewhere. Plus now you have a record with the dealership should you have any self maintenance called to question.

Just any oil is not okay you need to use one of the following specific brand and weight oils from MINIUSA.COM
