ok, so is the dealer replacing warped intake scoops or am I on my own?

next -- I didn't get the rear shelf when I bought the car....where's the cheapest place to buy this?

just got my car and its missing....wtf???

anyway....I've seen then for about $189.....anyone willing to part with theirs or know where I can get one for cheap?

Now that that's out of the way ...

Parts for these cars are not inexpensive (thanks, BMW!). Try eBay or a salvage yard for your best shot at saving some money.

And the scoops are being replaced under warranty.

 

You can find part numbers at RealOEM.com. Once you have the number, you can get parts from Pelican Parts, or ECS Tuning.

Also, some of the vendors in the vendor directory have OEM parts.

 

Private purchase or off a dealer lot?

I'd try to contact the original owner (dealership would have this info, phone # or email). The shelf is probably just sitting in his/her garage, forgotten - that's where mine is a lot of the time. He/she would probably be glad to give it to you. Worth a try...

I once traded a Honda Civic 1500S on a new Acura Integra, the Honda had a factory removable glass sunroof. A couple of months after trading it, I was cleaning out my garage and found the sunshade and carrying bag in amongst some other stuff. I took it to the dealer where I bought the Acura, but my old Honda had already been sold. The dealer contacted the new owner and the shade/bag was reunited with the car. I got a nice thank-you note from the owner.

So these things do happen...
