Just got my recent Ward's AutoWorld mag (Industry mag) .. indicates all Coopers get DI for 2010... in a few short years everyone will have DI... even Buick Lacrosse 4-cyl has it for 2010...

Sure, the brochure I pointed out was the announcement for the "Prince" engines project with PSA Peugeot. Those are the current engines in the R56. The article you pointed out is what is going to be in the 2011 models (maybe some late 2010 - if you go to the MINI USA configurator you will see that the new engines are not available yet). I was answering a poster's question about his R56 Cooper (N12 engine). It is not direct injected.
Thanks for the article - it is interesting to see where everyone is going. Hope they solve the intake fouling issue .
Cheers,
Greg

I poured it in and went for a twenty minute drive to run the Seafoam through the sytem a bit then returned home to change the oil. The waste oil was pitch black when I drained it out! Looked like the used oil from my diesel tractor. Compared to other waste oil samples from previous oil changes the Seafoam definately did it's job. There is a notable idle / throttle response from the PCV treatment as well. Think I will do the same at next oil change. Thanks to all for your posts and suggestions.

Did this last night....waited 30 minutes ( had to wash my car) started the car and NO smoke!!! I have 109k miles too!!!!
Added some more through the intake, put some in the oil and the rest in the gas....... will wait another 30 minutes and try it again..

If you have no smoke then it's not getting enough into the combustion chamber fast enough. Try having another person bring the revs up to about 2500 and let it suck. When it really starts to struggle you'll see smoke coming out the rear then hit the stop button. When you start it back up it should struggle like this:

Since you decided to put it in the oil you will need to change your oil very soon. I'd say within the next 300-400 miles or less.

I finally tried this yesterday. I warmed up the car, shut it off, plugged the PCV, and then started the car again. I slowly added some Seafoam and the motor struggled a bit. After maybe 1/4 to 1/3 of the can I shut the car off and waited ten minutes. Started the car again and kept checking the rear view and no smoke. So I did it again, but this time I actually stalled the car by adding the seafoam. Let it sit again for ten minutes and started it again. Still no smoke in the rear view. Then I happened to glance at the passenger side view and there was a TON of smoke. Didn't notice the breeze. Pretty sure my neighbors thought i blew up my car. I'm guessing that by stalling out the car there was plenty of seafoam in the system to dissolve whatever gunk there was. The smoke lasted for quite some time. I ran it a bit hard and burned off the rest of that nasty white smoke. It was pretty cool, I felt like I was in that old Spy Hunter video game. Topped Max off with a nice full tank of 91 Techron and we'll see if the mpg's improve. I added Techron fuel treatment before and noticed absolutely nothing. I'll keep you posted if I see any mpg improvements.

I figured as much.....that's why I did it before my 4 day weekend It will be about 300 - 350 miles on it by then.

What I don't understand is that after adding this to my intake (which I will do again per instructions above), oil and fuel I feel no difference while driving....(just got back from 180 mile trip) I added an entire can too. 1/3 in the intake, 1/3 oil, 1/3 fuel.

I don't think that you will feel anything big. You might not have noticed anything because you were expecting big gains.
