Quote: The stripes are just visual and add aesthetic appeal, if you're into that sort of thing. A tow hook is functional, only in a race environment.

But - some of the "pull to inflate"-type stuff doesn't involve racing, and is good-natured humor.. so I like that angle.

I am "into that sort of thing".
And because it seems to stir people up a little, I think Im going to install a front silver tow hook and have no intention of track racing.

Yeah, so I just ordered one cuz I think they’re kewl. I’m going to put mine in the back - wondering if anyone has pics of theirs installed? I only ask because once I pop out the little cover in the bumper, I can’t imagine it looking right without the little cover. I’m thinking that I’ll need to drill out a hole in the center to allow the hook through.

i had a craven tow hook and the thing fit perfect in the front bumper hole. it seems like it will be ugly with that plastic piece off but i didnt mind it at all.

also i tightened it to the point of no return, i needed vice grips to get it off... no one was stealing that from me. red lock tite will work good too

Quote: Your tire valve covers are much more likely to be stolen. Now start worrying about them!
My MA gave me a set of "S" valve stem cover/caps when I bought my Mini. Got it home and they were gone the next day. Put the stock ones back on and they have been there for 7 years.

When I look at them on street cars I always see the additional damage they would cause in an accident, to both cars.
