Coming up on my 1 year anniversary...
Hard to believe I have had the 09 for nearly a year, but it will be just that in about another 3 months. One thing I still cannot get use to on this car is the servicing. So MINI allows for one servicing per year? Was in the dealership yesterday for the cold start issue and he went over about bring it in before the 12 month if the service indicator reflects it, but try to wait to just at the 1 year mark. How is it best to handle this?
Take it in at the one year mark for an oil change. That's about all they do annually. The service indicator is for an oil change, brake fluid flush, filters, and maybe some other things. Some people have had the annual oil change, then the service (with oil change) a month later. If that is how it works out, that is how it works out.
My service dept called me to bring it in for the annual service since I still hadn't reached a service interval within the first year according to the OBC. They changed the oil and filter, checked all fluids, checked tire pressures and changed the wipers front and rear. The OBC wasn't reset so my car still thinks the old oil is in there; will get another oil change in a year or if my OBC tells me it's time.
I've set my own Service Schedules, besides the Annual Service I also have a 6 mo. Service done, another Oil Change, Cabin Filter Replaced (Hubby's Allergies), Wiper Blades and anything else I can thing of that need to get done. The Dealer checks the OBC each and every visit and does the Services required by what the On Board Computer tells them to do.
