I've used a small one-man shop in Salinas for brake pads and rear anti-sway bar install. Don't have any complaints. He is an avid MINI guy and often away on club runs.

I should have clarified...

I'm in North Bay Area...I used to use the guys in San Ramon for my E36 M3, but that seems to be a trip for me.

I go to German Motor Specialist for brake flushes, but that's in the South Bay.

I use BRRACING in Los Gatos. They originally specialized in MINI and BMW only and now they do other high-end manufacturers too. They are really good for installs and take the time to explain what they are actually doing to your car/ why it will help you.

I had a pretty good experience with Jag Automotive in San Rafael, but I've only had them do some quick suspension diagnostics and repair/replacement work- nothing too specialized.

Still, they're a Brit-specialty shop with a really great, friendly crew and the prices were definitely fair for the area.
