Ok...I've had my Camden MCS for about 4 months and I still love it. I'm even still for the most part amused by the Mission Control. I appreciate the fact that it only seems to chatter for about the first minute after I start up.

However...I do have to say that although there are supposed to be several hundred sound files with various versions of the same information...for some reason I seem to hear only the very same series of dialog every time that I start out...which is getting a little boring.

White bonnet stripes, or not?

I just got mine a couple of weeks ago.....the dealer still owes me the white bonnet stripes as originally requested, since he realized too late that a Camden would not include them....
Now I do not know what to do, as I like it as it is!

Looks sweet! Finally! Someone with White Silver Metallic paint has the white sport stripes. I've been on the fence about having the white sport stripes installed on my Camden. You've inspired me!

Thanks. It is flat white. I couldn't find a good photo that showed it well.

Camden in Winnipeg

Had mine for 2 weeks..love it..significant improvements overall from my 2006.

The Canadian editions were somewhat limited, but i like my package.

New Camden owner as of 8/30

I am just waiting for 8/30 for my old lease period to be up and then I will pick up my new Midnight Black Camden. I couldn't help myself today so I stopped by the dealership on my way home from work. The bonnet stripes have been added and I couldn't possibly be more psyched (as much as I love my current '07 MCSa).

The black bonnet stripes look awesome on the black Camden - please post more pics! Congrats on your new Camden!

Thanks

Thanks much... I went back and forth on the stripes but I love the look. Here's a picture I took the first day I had the car when it was cleaned up a bit ... I'll add a few more when I get home later. The Camden is awesome -- though I'd appreciate if my car would stop lecturing me for having the windows open and the air on! I added a JCW airbox and I'm trying to find a few more mods I can do on the cheap. Any suggestions are more than welcome as I'm a bit of a car novice.

Hey Camden Fam!

Any recommendation for reliable, but not high-end, winter tires? I'm leasing my Camden, so I'm not planning to invest too much on additional tires. Hence, I'll be using the same wheels during the winter months.

Any experience with Tire Rack? Not sure that the delivery cost of shipping to Canada would make this a worthwhile option though...

Much thanks!

I have winter Pirelli's... They're AWESOME.
I had a local tire place price-match to Tire Rack and all that. So all in all, getting them ordered, mounted, balanced, bla bla bla, cost me around $300.

Good idea about asking a local shop to match a price... $300 US for the set? Or for 1 tire?

Check out a post I added to this thread a while back about turning Mission Control off for certain events. All you have to do is edit a file on the SD card. I got tired of Mission Control telling me to roll my windows up for better aerodynamics - so I disabled that "lecture".

I just saw a pic of a 2011 White Silver Metallic MC. I sure wish MINI had kept this color a little more exclusive. Is anyone else with a White Silver Metallic Camden is a little disappointed to see this color is now available on any 2011 MINI?

For 2011 the black headlights are now an option... and apparently a configurable version of Mission Control is now included with MINI Connected. So aside from the two-tone seats, dash/mirror caps, side scuttles, and wheels (if you opted for them)... there's not much left that's special about the Camden "special" edition.

I guess I need to quit whining - I still love my Camden!

Yeah I'm disappointed... But then again, there's satisfaction in knowing we are the precursors!

dissapointed in MINI here also, not just for us Camden owners, but also the Mayfair owners, they got it worse because you can now order their wheels... sucks!

New owner chiming in here... not a great pic (iPhone) but I sure love the little beast. Thanks to corin.mcblide - I'll be putting "S" scuttles on tonight.

Great forum - nice people, and very helpful.

Saw my local dealer take possession of their first '11 Camden R55 while I was finishing my order. The white silver is an amazing look indeed!

Edit: it was probably Soho. My bad.

Smaller wheels for winter months?

Hey guys!

Who out there invested/will invest in 16" wheels/tires for the winter months?

I'm debating if I should do so, mostly based on the $ factor, since I'm leasing my Camden. Sure, I could sell the wheels at the end of my term, but it doesn't change the fact that I need to come up with the full invoice price right now.

I guess I'm wondering if I'll get through winter without major issues with 17" tires...

Thoughts?

Yes we did for both our MINI's. It is well worth the investment! They are so much better on true snow tires and having them on their own dedicated wheels makes it easy. Plus your good wheels will not take a beating in the winter months.

no, not camden wheels(silver shield), only mayfair wheels(infinite stream) will be available for the 2011 model year.
