Options on shipping body parts

I have had my 09 CR MCS front and rear bumper skins up for sale on the marketplace and recently received an inquiry. I went to the local UPS store for an estimate and they quoted me $60 for the rear and $125 for the front. Plus packing. Altogether it's over $200. (This is from the Florida panhandle to the middle of Ohio) They say that if I went with a bigger box that would fit both in it would be even more because of the size of the box. WTF?

Has anybody here shipped the same or similar items, at a better rate? I'm in a somewhat small town, but there has to be better options out there. Can anybody recommend other options or have any recommendations? I'd sure appreciate it. I've seen alot of bumper covers sold here, what shipping options did you use?

I shipped a front bumper before and I was able to sneak it by without going freight. The size alone makes the price very high. The second time I shipped another bumper via Greyhound. Much cheaper. See what Greyhound will charge you. The buyer would have to pick it up at the station, you of course would have to drop it off there and choose to pack it or not.

I shipped a 150+ pound roof rack via fedex once and it was around $70-$90 I think. I wrapped up the parts in saran wrap, then I took 2 boxes and taped them together. That may be your best bet. It did take a lot of tape, but you could try that.

USPS Will ship in similar fashion. Wrap with bubble wrap, then wrap with some cardboard and shipping paper....as long as the dimensions are not over 108 inches USPS will ship. ( measure height X widest portion of bumper diameter....)

Wow, expensive. Even when the eBay sellers sell their bumpers, they usually only ask $65-$80 for shipping. And those sellers usually love jacking up their shipping costs.
