I had the misfortune of being rear ended in stop and go (with very little go) traffic recently. No apparent damage apart from the slightly abused bumper cover, but the hit was good enough that I suspect the bumper shocks were pushed in (and then out). Are these reusable? Or are they designed to take one hit? My understanding is the shocks and the rear beam come as one part, so the entire thing would need to get replaced.

A trusted bodyshop will be looking at the car next week but I want to make sure to push for a new bumper beam if it is really only designed to be used once.
