Hello everyone!

I'm a brand new MINI owner and have a question that I'm hoping someone can answer.

I purchased a 2007 MCS that has the factory installed alarm system. In the Owner's Manual it says, "For more information on the alarm system, refer to the separate Owner's Manual for the alarm system." I do not have this supplementary manual with all of my other literature. I've searched the Web, the Owner's Lounge on the MINI site, and this forum and do not seem to be able to find it. I really need to know how to use the system -- the first night I owned my car I left my dog in the car while I ran into the grocery store and came out to find the alarm going off! I didn't even know it had sensors to check for movement, how embarrassing!

Does anyone have a PDF copy of this supplementary manual, or know where I can get one? Can I simply go to my local MINI dealer and ask for one?

When locking the doors with a pet inside, or if you're taking the car on a ferry, press the lock button twice. This will disarm the motion sensor. (Light above the tach will also blink fast if I recall)

 

Not quite sure but I think all the manuals are available in the owners lounge on miniusa's website.

 

I found the alarm system operating instructions. You need to go download the 2009 MINI Owner's Manual. The alarm instructions are on page 24 and 25.

Fortuitous to find this thread active and near the top today. I'm dog sitting, and last night had to leave my car unlocked (in the city) b/c I had the dog inside. No more.
