Treatment for cloth seats...

So did a search and found out how to clean your cloth seats... but no treatments to make it so they will resist stains. Family keeps telling me to spray them with scotch guard but i want the miniverse's opinion first!

What you think???

I think you will get 101 opinions in NAM's Detailing 101 Forum. I don't have an opinion. Haven't treated mine. Just cleaned a spill once with 303 Aerospace Cleaner. Seemed to work well.

I sprayed my cloth seats with 303 High Tech Fabric Guard http://www.303products.com/shop303/i...bric-guard.cfm

Works well I like it. Only issue was that they stink (smells toxic) so I let the car sit after treatment for 24hrs before driving it. It still smelled but it was light enough that I could drive the car without any issues.

Should be able to just get a spray can of scotch guard and go to town. The 303 is a little stronger. Either way, it's most effective when sprayed on a clean surface, so clean the seats nicely before you do it. I think you're supposed to respray every year for best results.

I use the 303 products also and if it stank that much you probably used to much. It doesn't take much. But it works very well!

For easy clean-up with Cloth Seats, use Club Soda in a Spray Bottle and a White Terry Cloth!!
