R56 I just love "the wave"...

No matter how crappy a day you have...its nice to get in the mini and roll down the windows and crank the tunes for the ride home....and the wave from the oncoming mini driver always makes me feel good.
Thanks for the wave!!!

You're welcome!
But I dare say I hardly get a wave from Mini owners in my neck of the woods. Maybe 1 in 10. *******! (I live in Vancouver)
If I head down to Seattle, I'd say I get the wave from 1 in 3 owners.

Here in Vermont i get a wave from almost everyone....of course in my 40 mile commute that is usually only 1-3 mini's....and they ALL have stripes...i was going to hold off, but now i think i will add them.
I actually had a short conversation the other day with a Mini owner in the opposite lane when all traffic came to a momentary stand-still. One wave led to another to a pleasant exchange. I love MINIs.
When my shiny dark green friend comes into view as I walk out to the parking lot, I start to smile. It gets bigger and bigger the closer I get. We enjoy the ride home, even if we don't get any waves.

I pulled up to a MINI while visiting Indiana and the driver wasn't looking but then she saw us doing a really slow wave and burst out smiling and waving.
I'd say I get about 2-3 out of 10 wave-backs here in Ohio.

Same here....always wave, but not always get the nod back....
P-car owners have the flash (I have that too). Mini gets plenty of waves here in the Carolinas. Nice to have friends with common interests, and so many smiling faces.

I was riding through the parking lot of a shopping center today when I saw a LY/W backing out of a parking space a few stores down from where I was headed. I waited for him to get out of his space, gave a little toot-toot and wave...he didn't seem to enthused
even though he waved back.

I've owned my Clubman S since May and I've only been waved at twice by other Mini drivers. Guess it's not that big of a thing around here in the Silicon Valley. I love it when I wave and they wave back, though
driving thru town this morning i saw a laser blue mini parked and then i noticed walking up to it was one of the nice looking women you will see here in vermont...tall leggy blonde...I gave her the horn and a fun wave and she saw the car and flashed me a peace sign....
When visiting Maine for vacation I got an enthusiastic wave from every mini owner. Now that I'm back in the Philadelphia burbs (where Minis seem to be a dime a dozen these days) not one wave in the last week. :(
The only wave I have gotten in return from a MINI driver is after I initiated and we were leaving our MINI Rally.
I was outside washing the MINI one day and a MINI driver passed and waved (I really hope she saw me wave back as she went by pretty quick and I don't want to be a "non-waver").
Other than that no waves. I still wave at every MINI I see in hopes mankind will surprise me (here in Utah) with polite and/or happy drivers. Sometimes I do forget when I am driving the Durango that those MINI drivers have no idea why I am waving...but then again they do respond the same as when I am in the MINI.
I'm from Portland, OR so apparently we are known for our 'crazy' polite and enthusiastic attitudes when stuck in traffic.
I haven't decided yet if I like that there aren't really any traffic laws here. There are some traffic guidelines that you can disregard if you feel they don't benefit your personal interest. Sometimes nice, but makes going through traffic lights scary if there aren't already people stopped... no idea if the person with an open lane will just blow through the light because...well they wanted to go.ng
Yay for illegal texting while driving... oops, I mean 'guideline' to not, unless you feel that rule doesn't apply to you.
