R56 Anybody else have this problem?
I'm a 52 year old 260 pound ex biker, current farmer living in a very rural county of SE Tennessee. I drive our mini in denim overalls on a regular basis. I have a beard, hair halfway down my back and an assortment of tattoos. I have yet to receive a single negative comment although I think some people are quite surprised when I step out from behind the dark tinted windows! Actually it seems to be enjoyed by most people around here. Many have never even heard of a Mini Cooper. Oh I did get one comment on "that funny little car" from a toothless hillbilly in a Confederate uniform at a Civil War Reenactment!
Never a bad word here
I have never had anyone at all say anything but good comments about my Mini. It seems that everyplace I go people ask me how I like it and how does it ride. I get the usual questions about MPG and how much did it cost. I never had anyone of any age say it was gay. All I ever get is complements.

The only negative thing I have gotten was more about me than the car.... a person walking by said "looks great" referring to the car as I was washing. Then she said "I think your timing is stupid" referring to the forecasted rain. I turned to her and pointed at the garage and said "that's what a garage is for".
So, not as bad as the derogatory comments many of you have received.

2nd coolest car ever
This months Motor Trend has a list going of the top 60 coolest cars. Shelby original Cobra was #1 on the list, The Mini Cooper was #2 (Austin Mini) but still a Mini.

I thought people would be saying this about my car. But about 7 people loved my car at work when they finally found out I had "the white one with the black wheels". It was strange. I was expecting people to not like the car, but the total opposite.
Only thing that makes me cringe is when girls call my car "cute".
I don't consider it cute- its my bad mof'er!
People seemed strangely intrigued by it. They always want to know more about it and ask a ton of questions.
Btw- I had a lambo driver rev and give me the thumbs up the other day. Seems more of the performance car drivers appreciate the mini more. Your every day yahoo isn't going to get it.

Yep
Like Dwell, All of my friends like my Mini. I hang with friends with Porsche's and Audi R-8s as well as Corvette guys. I have never heard anyone say anything against my Mini. I belong to the Audi Club and we have track days at Daytona. Next one will be in December. I will probably sign up to run my JCW.
Of course the Mini is not mightier then the Suzuki but who cares
(That is what I learned on TV)

Mini's are always respected at the track.
im 20 but have had my car since i was 19. Bought it with my own money that i worked very hard for. Most of my friends like my car but i have had people ask or say really dumb things. for example people have asked me if i payed like 8K for it !
also once at a red light a guy next to me in an old clunker looks at me and laughs while he says " i can put that little car in my trunk". i respond by saying " not if you cant me" and speed off when lights turns green. I laughed and then had a huge smile on my face for the rest of the day
. all my friends have hondas with **** cans but have stopped looking down on my car since they seen how mighty it really is. (i've smoked them plenty of times!)
