Track maybe....60 second autocross runs? Come on, how much extra brake wear is that going to induce. I'm sure someone will bring up 135i's smoking their brakes at autocross but that car is rear drive and 500+ lbs heavier, no comparison. I HAVE autocrossed my JCW with EDLC and in my opinion it worked just fine. I ran good times without excess wheelspin, and my brakes were not smoking at the end of runs (nor has my brake service indicator shown anything funny.)

Our region also does practices on Saturdays, which are generally 12-16 runs, plus we offer X-runs (3-4 work-free runs) after you do your competition runs on Sun. I guarantee you after a weekend like that, even if the runs are only 60 sec., the brakes will not be better for the wear. And if it was just the pads, it wouldn't be all that bad, but warped rotors suck. If you like the e-diff, then that's awesome. I'm just saying, the mechanical LSD is still available until March, and I'm glad I was able to order it on my '10.
