well, FYI the rear quarter windows are around $900. One AM I went out and my pass rear 1/4 widnow was shattered, but the inside tint kept it mostly together, enough for me to tape it before Elite replaced it.

My dealer (Atlanta Mini) told me $1100 dollars to replace the windshield and good old Farmers makes me pay my $240 deductible and they want you to go through Safelite Solutions. Not sure if it is required to do so. I haven't got mine fixed yet.

Uh huh, and my dealer told me my tires were $450 each too. But I could buy them for about half that anywhere else. What the dealer quotes is for suckers only.

Only go to the dealer..

for warranty work and recalls. Other than that, go elsewhere....

Our local independent Mini repair shop, Steves Auto Clinic has a guy that comes out and does a really nice install for under $ 300 as I recall. I've had 2 in 7 years .

$768 for a Mini windshield might seem a bit high...till you get a call from your buddy who was just doing a swap out of a rear view mirror on his Elise, and cracks the windscreen........

Blackwatch Micro Rear View Mirror - $75.00
Windshield from Lotus Dealership - $2550.00
Watching a grown man cry like a little girl - PRICELESS

(Note to self......don't do your own dental work, engine rebuild, or attempt to replace the rear view mirror!)

And just so you don't think me heartless, I cried along with him, bought him a beer, and won't post the photo's......LOL

WOW that is really high for the glass dealer glass at any PPG dealer should have been $299.96. My dad owns a glass business. The rear quarter panel is the most expensive at 464.59.

Good job with lowering your comp to $0!

At $768, I guess was being patriotic and helping with the economic stimulus! No one said the economic stimuls was economical.
