In-Dash GPS
I'm looking around at those non-portable flip out dash GPS systems and most of them seem very reasonably priced. I know that the MINI's dash can be modified with one of these because I've seen quite a few pictures of cars with it done (of coarse none of which I can find again).
My question is about the size. They all come in different sizes for different cars and I was wondering if anyone know what I should look at.
If nobody knows thats fine, when my MINI gets here I can look it up in the manual.
Thanks

You won't find much in the manual about replacing the stock HU with an aftermarket model because the HU on the R56 (07+) is so integrated into the center stack. It can be done, but it's nothing trivial. On the R50/53 it was much easier.
You will get a better response in the Navigation and Audio forum.
As with all things, you can do anything with enough time and money.

I would be sure to check out the functionality of the GPS system in any of the units you have in mind. I'm partial to Garmin, but there are other good systems too. I got a Kenwood for my other car and was able to a the Garmin GPS and XM radio as add-ons to the basic unit.
