I believe they are European only, due to side airbags and junk here. I may be wrong.

The R56 JCW Recaro seat is the RECARO Sportster CS (http://www.recaro.com/index.php?id=484&region=5&L=2) without the JCW badging of course. To get the badging I would think you'd have to order them from UK or EU and have them shipped. Previous discussion on this issue is posted on the "JCW Garage" thread of this very online forum!

https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...caro-seat.html

(sweet seats though- never seen them til now!)

Since this thread was bumped here I figured I'd post an update on my seats. The order from the dealer in the UK fell through so I ordered them from here and they have been delivered to my office in DC. Once I head up there(should be next week) I'll take some photos and post them.Total cost for leather was $3770 shipped.

WHAT??? You SOB, you GOT them???

Ahhhhh, my new best friend.

Did you order front and back or just front? I'd like to find the set in the pic (with color AND back seat)

I'll check out the link but you know you're gonna have to stop by.

The seats in the first post belong to the R50/R53 first gen BMW Mini's.
For the R56, genuinemini.co.uk sells the stuff albeit a different and better one

Mark,
Only the front seats are available from this supplier. As for the rears I've asked around on my other forum in Denmark(where everyone seems to have Recaros) and the word is there are no rear seats yet for the R55/56/57 so we'll just have to wait.

Chad,

I'm assuming the seats are with airbags? If you ever find out who sells the rear, let us know. The only way I'll put the front in if I can do the back.

That's just for the fronts....

Figure the rear will be at least 2000 more bucks.

If I add up all the money I've put into big blocks, tubs, superchargers, liftkits just in the last year, nevermind the last 30, 5K on seats ain't but a drop in the bucket.

Everyone knows putting money into cars is crazy. My wife says I'm crazy. Works for me.

I know what you mean I love to spend on upgrades too. But no offense they just don't even look like they are worth $500 to me. They look cheap unless you plan to use them as racing seats then that is ok. But for looks not so much.

Actually, I want them for the track. I want the rear seats only cause they look cool and match the front.

I really want them but I'll have to really think about spending 5K for a set of seats.

Mark,
They do have the airbags but in order to disable the passenger weight sensor and have the passenger airbag active requires encoding unless you know how to fool the airbag system.

I've put twice that in upgrades to my '07. One of the advantages of being a mid 30's bachelor with no kids!

So do those seats have a memory button? b/c if they do then it's totally worth it.

I don't think your insane. I just paid over 3K for a new saddle for my horse and it is only one seat.

I disagree- Hey if you got it, flaunt it! $4k seats assures a very unique mod that most likely, no one within ones circle will also have. That is, if you've got 4-grand to blow. Which includes no one I know.

(FWIW- Coming from the mini-truck generation, I've known folks to spend that much on their audio systems. IN A TRUCK!! *shakes head*)

Lol. Yeah, I was in around those circles too for a bit. 4K or more just for subs. Don't forget the extra 5k or more just to lift the truck bed and make it spin!!!

Are these rear seats from an older model? No one I've talked to can tell me what year the rear seats are from or where to get them.

Even if they are from an older model, perhaps an upholstery shop can make them work.

Mark, you're just going to have to make a trip over the pond a pick up a pair. I'll bet you could even talk your way into letting them be "carry-on" luggage on the flight back
