Cloth + heated seats?

Just a quick question, it seems to me that the heated seats are much more desireable with the leatherette than with cloth. Anyone here have cloth and really miss having the heated seats? I'm considering skipping the heated seats since I hope to spec out a MINI with cloth.

FWIW, I ordered my MCS with heated cloth. My MA says they work great together. I hope he's right. I'll have mine in 4 weeks (I hope) but it will probably be warm enough I won't know how well they work till fall.

I have cloth and heated seats and they work great. If you live where it's cold the cold weather package is a must. When you get in your car in the cold and turn on the seat heater your backside is warm in no time. I live in northeast Ohio and any future cars that I own will have heated seats.

I have the cloth and heated seats in my MCS and have no issues with then. i actually think the cloth transmits the heat better than the leatherette - comparing the heated seats on my mini to those on my sequoia.

Ive had heated cloth/leather seats in both of S's and I would NOT order another w/o them. (the heated part is the cloth).

The heat from the heated seats is wonderful and near instantaneous-- I love it. Cloth seats are also a must for me. I am not sure why the import world is turning to leatherette but I am against it! (Although I will say... leatherette is soooo easy to clean and looks really nice when it has been conditioned and treated!)

I liked the Heated seats in my 04 Jetta TDI better though... there were 5 settings, and none of them made you feel like your @ss was on fire.

Cloth interior and heated seats gets my vote!

The one option that is madatory in any car I order from now on is heated seats. I have cloth and I am completely happy with them. Leatherette was a close second but I am glad I chose the cloth because:

1. Grippier than leather or leartherette.
2. Not as hot/cold
3. Leather does not wear as well as cloth of letherette.

Be aware though the base materials DO NOT have lumbar support if that is an issue. Also leatherette is much easier to clean and maintian.

Heated seats were a must for us as well, and we chose cloth since we really didn't like the leatherette.

Lumbar support? That sounds enticing! Which seats HAVE lumbar support? Is there a **** to manually adjust the amount of support?

Well shoot.. I guess I was hoping for more like, "meh, you don't really need heated seats if you have cloth". But instead everyone loves the butt heaters. I might have to rethink not getting the cold package.

My friends have heated cloth seats in their VW. It works great. Once you start using heated seats they become a must have.

I'm a fan of cloth seats and I LOVE my heated seats. In the winter they aren't cold when you sit on them (leather - brr) and warm up to butt toasty super fast. Any car I drive when it's less than 50deg (which is any car at this point in my life) will have to have seat warmers from now on. It was a requirement for the MINI and I'm so glad I got them.

Not to mention the button is way down there on the console and it's fun to get people in the car and hit the button without them seeing it and roast 'em and watch 'em squirm.

Also - for those with sensitive behinds; there's a TSB out there that allows MINI to put a resistor in the seats to 'tone it down' although they're pretty insistent that it's supposed to be that hot (which I'm ok with).

My new 09 is my first car with heated seats and I'll never get another one without them. Even though winter is (almost) over and mornings are about 30f here I still find myself using the heaters every morning....

I have had the cloth heated seats for 2 winters now and will never have another car without them, what a great comfort especially on short trips.

I joke around all the time with my checkered cloth heated seats. They have three "settings":

*Scald
**Lava
***Nuclear

Love my cloth heated seats... and for us gals, I can guarantee there's at least one week out of the month (sorry for the overshare, but I see this as a super important feature!) where I look for excuses to go drive my car, just because of the heated seats. They're seriously worth it!

I've had both in the Cooper, and the cloth transmits WAY better than leather. It turns on faster and it feels much hotter.

I feel the same way. I'll have to check on that resistor TSB. I have two friends with R56 MCSs and their heated seats are the same and they have the same complaint.

What TSB? They are way too hot.....

In my old Audi there was a dial for seat heat. 1-6... it was perfect.

Heated cloth seats heat up almost instantly, much faster than our other vehicle leather seats.

Yes, I love the smell of burning bacon on a cold morning!

The three settings are: sizzle, broil, incinerate.
