Toyota makes amazing vehicles, but... their design is always half a decade behind it seems. If someone told me that red Camry pictured above was a 2002 model I would have believed them. Very lack-lustre, but... some people just want a dependable car and I totally understand that.
My current MC has been in the shop for more problems in a year than my VW Beetle was in two years, and my VW Jetta TDI in four years... but I feel a deep man love for this car more than the others!
As for Mercedes... gorgeous cars... awesome ride quality... but reliability according to anything I have read (Consumer Reports magazine especially) ranks them as the most unreliable vehicles in the industry.
Ford is looking pretty good these days!

There are certain vehicles that for the most part, won't change. ie. minis, hummer, jeeps but they're not expected to.
That camry looks like a 6-8 yr. old car with fresh paint and ground effects.

07 toyota redesigned the camry--i test drove a hybrid model--the first thing that i said to myself was "i can see why toyota sells a lot of them"--i can buy a fully loaded hybrid camry that use to sell for over $32K now at about $25k---the price is under invoice on the toyota--this is less than i paid for my mini s with less options--i paid $500 over invoice for my mini s--i use to hate the camry design uptill the 07 redesign---much more angular lines on the current model--to me nothing like the prior 2 designs

The Mercedes bashing is quite amusing in its ignorance... as is the "BMW mothership" loyalty of some of the posters in this thread. MB's are fantastic vehicles with a character and styling all their own and, unlike some of BMW's designs of late, euro styling that endures.
Now if we were in the e46 era I would indulge "healthy" Mercedes bashing a bit more, but with appliance-like e90's cluttering the roads vis a vis the current C-class... Perhaps some of the posters here should get out and test drive more cars, of all brands, or at very least get a clue on the auto industry (e.g., previous Daimler-Benz acquisition of Chrysler).

Wo says we don't test drive other cars? Who is talking about ingnorance...
The day BMW makes a BMW emblem the size of a soccer ball on the grill of the car like MB currently does with the 300c sport...then you can talk.

Hey have you givin thought to the new 2010 gti 2.0T coming out in sept. consumer reports ranked the 09 gti ahead of the camry in terms of reliabilty (crazy I know). and the 09 gti also took 1st place among 6 of its peers in motortrend. and encluded in the comparison was the mini and the wrx. it didnt win because it was the fastest. it won because it placed solid in all catogries. all 3 judges said if it were my money id buy the gti. super supportive seats, quick, top of class interior, dsg (automatic) is faster than manual, new styling is very bmw like, alot of standard lux features great commuter car! and holds value very close to bmw!
